As part of Geeked Week, Netflix officially announced that the second season of Arcane will be released in November 2024, but no specific date was given. The statement was also ed by a small teaser, which shows Jinx walking against a red background, on which the month of the premiere then appears. According to Nicolo Laurent, Riot Games cannot release a sequel earlier, because they would not want to lose the quality of the series, the success of which was initially doubted.
The Arcane animated series is part of the League of Legends universe and is considered canon, and further parts of the franchise may use the events of this story as a reference. The anime takes place in the upper city of Piltover and the lower region of Zaun, which is essentially a “city within a city.” They are in tense relations; the rivalry between two districts with different financial status and living conditions leads to discord between ordinary residents.
Sisters Vi and Jinx, the main characters of the story, due to sad circumstances find themselves on opposite sides of the barricades, and most likely the further plot will focus on their relationship after the dramatic ending of the first season. The confrontation between Piltover and Zaun is expected to be revealed, taking into Jinx's actions, and tensions will increase due to the drug Flicker.
