The precious chest is located at the southern point of the New Fontaine Research Institute, on the shore. The easiest way to get to this place is from the nearest water level intelligence crystals, as well as Hydrogranums and blue gears.

How to open a precious chest in the ruins of the Central Laboratory in Genshin Impact

To remove the seal from a precious chest and receive a reward, you must interact with water level reconnaissance crystals, Hydrogranums and special mechanisms that change color after being hit. One of the important points is that this should be done quickly and in the correct order. Having brought four crystals into an “active” state, you need to move them so that in the end they all light up at once.

Take Hydrogranums

Hydrogranums look like small drops of water and are needed to interact with water level reconnaissance crystals. After you collect all 3 drops, a Hydro Core will automatically appear around the character, surrounding the active hero with a small Hydro field.

It is worth noting that this field does not last too long; one activation is likely only enough for 2 crystals. After the ring disappears, collect the drops again and continue to solve the puzzle.

Activate water level intelligence crystals

Having received Hydrogranums in quantity 3 pieces, you should first interact with 1 и 2 water level reconnaissance crystal. One is located right next to the chest, and the second hovers above the beginning of the path.

Charge the first and second crystal until each one glows light blue. It may be necessary to run between them a little to create the moment when they are simultaneously filled with the power of water. This can be tracked by the fact that they light up and become brighter.

When you activate both crystals, hit the blue mechanism closest to them. After the impact, the mechanism will change color to yellow, and the first two water level reconnaissance crystals will change their location.

If necessary, take the Hydrogranums again and activate the Hydro Field. This time you need to interact with the 3rd and 4th crystal. Repeat the same as you did with 1 and 2 crystals: run between them to charge Hydro with energy. When both items light up, approach the blue mechanism nearby.

Activate the second mechanism with a blow. It will change color to yellow and set the 3rd and 4th crystal in motion, they will slightly change their location.

As a result, two crystals should be on small columns, and the remaining two should be on both sides of the first mechanism.

After this, activate the three Hydrogranums again and install the Hydro Core, hovering next to the character, in a specially designated place for it.

This will charge Hydro's energy to all 4 water level intelligence crystals at the same time, solving the puzzle. The precious chest will then be unlocked, don’t forget to pick up the prizes.
