In all survival games, crafting is one of the foundations of the gameplay. If you decide to get used to the role of a harsh Viking, then creating a shelter, weapons, armor and preparing supplies is indispensable. We share life hacks and secrets of these processes.
В valheim a fairly extensive system for crafting items has been developed: this applies to both food and weapons, armor and other things. For example, there are two types of food in the game - those that can be collected (from the ground or by killing an animal) and those that can be cooked. And this is just the tip of the crafting iceberg in this exciting survival game.
How to craft a cauldron in Valheim
The boiler in Valheim is used for cooking various food, for example, to create bread, stews (specifically from turnips or snakes), some sausages, all kinds of mead And so on. The peculiarity of the cauldron, unlike the cooking stand, is the instant receipt of the finished product as soon as the necessary ingredients are placed in the crafting slots.
Cauldron Recipe inside the game you can get only one way - for the first time smelting tin in the smelter. In turn, to craft this item you need 10 tin, a hammer and a fire (to hang the boiler).
How to create craft tables
In Valheim there are several types of craft tables. Depending on the workplace, the player gets the opportunity to craft one or another type of item. Let's take a closer look at how to make and improve workbench, forge, stone cutter and craftsman's table.
Crafting table
The first thing the player should take care of after starting the game is setting up the workbench. This workplace a huge number of functions: crafting initial equipment (weapons, ax and pickaxe, leather equipment), their repair and the ability to build buildings around.
That is why the workbench must be placed in the center of your “home” so as not to lose precious resources and space for construction. At the same time, there is another, no less important feature of the workbench - without a roof and walls around it, it won't work. Therefore, at first, it is rational to simply find a destroyed house - this will save some of the resources and time on restoring the dwelling, and not on building it from scratch in a not the best place.
To build a workbench, you need 10 wooden bars - they can be obtained by pre-crafting an ax from 3 wood and 3 stones, which can simply be picked up from the ground. Being originally a universal workbench, the workbench has 4 levels of improvements.
How to upgrade the workbench in Valheim
- First improvement
The first improvement can be made immediately after installing the workbench - you need to put a deck next to it for cutting. The deck is made from 10 stones + 10 wood. It should be borne in mind that this item must be installed as close to the workbench as possible. Cutting deck blueprint opens only after collecting silicon along the bank of a river or reservoir.
- Second improvement

- Fourth improvement
The last workbench upgrade can be done by crafting a tool shelf. Its creation will require 4 iron ingots, 10 quality wood + 4 obsidian. Obsidian is mined in the mountains from deposits. For this you need an iron pickaxe
Forge
The forge becomes available to the player after the construction and installation of the workbench. It allows you to process various metals and smelt bronze, which will be required to improve the workbench and make bronze equipment.
Forge also must be placed indoors and it can be improved.
- Making a forge
