Ring of Lover's Caress in Baldur's Gate 3: how to get protective bonds

We'll show you where to find two rare rings connected by a protective spell.

Two skeletons with rings

Ring of affection for a loved one Act 2, connected by a common protective spell with the Beloved's Embrace ring. The wearer of one of the items is able to give a powerful buff to the person wearing the second artifact and envelop him in an aura that protects him from any attacks.

In the guide we will tell you where to find your loved one’s Weasel ring in BG3, as well as the ring associated with it, and how to use these paired items.

Where to find the Lover's Weasel Ring in Baldur's Gate 3

You can find the accessory when you get into Act 2 and go through the shadows to the western part of the map using moon lantern. To the east of the House of Healing, at coordinates (X: -147; Y:43), there is a skeleton sitting near the gravestone, from which you will find the required item.

Lover's Caress Ring

The description states that the owner of the ring can receive a "Protective Bond" from the person wearing the second ring. This means that the item is useless without a copy of itself, which, fortunately, is nearby.

Where to find the Beloved's Hug ring in BG3

The second ring of the Affection of the Beloved, which is called the Embrace of the Beloved, is located nearby, in House of Healing. Go inside and move to the infirmary, at coordinates (X: -212; Y: 0). There is a skeleton on the mattress from which you can pick up an accessory.

Lovely Hug Ring

The Ring of the Beloved's Embrace in Baldur's Gate 3 allows you to place a “Protective Bond” on the person wearing the second ring once before a long rest. Items must be used by 2 different characters to be used.

How Ward Bonds Work in Baldur's Gate 3

Rings Hugs of the Beloved and Caress of the Beloved

The one who wears Beloved's Embrace can apply a buff "Protective Bonds" only on the character who put on the Affection of his beloved. The skill itself works as follows: the hero under the spell has resistance to all types of damage and +1 to challenges and armor class, but the one who cast it receives the same amount of damage as the character under the buff.

For example, if a companion, prod effect "Protective Bonds" will receive 100 units of damage, and the ally who cast the spell has 100 health left, the latter will instantly die.

Which characters to bind with protective bonds

We recommend giving “Protective Bonds” to the character who fights in close combat more than others: for example, Karlach. Don’t rush to equip the Beloved’s Embrace on a companion who is in the squad, because then you will take up an extra slot for rings, in which you can put a more useful item.

"Protective Bonds" in action

Instead, give the accessory to a hero who constantly sits in the camp. After a long rest, cast a spell on the most powerful member of the active squad and leave the owner of the Beloved's Embrace in the shelter. This way, the fighter will still have the buff, and the one who should receive damage along with him will ignore all attacks, since he is in the camp.

This also means that companions who spend all their time in the camp can change their class to priest and learn the same “Protective Bonds” for them, and then issue them to active of the squad. If you do this, then all heroes will have resistance to all types of damage.

If, nevertheless, both rings are used by active of the squad, then give an Embrace to your favorite healer so that he does not suffer much from the damage he receives.

We hope the guide was useful and helped you find the ring of the Loved One’s Caress in Baldur’s Gate 3 and the associated ring of the Loved One’s Embrace, as well as use its spells with maximum efficiency.
