To start the Octave Maushiro quest, complete the previous part called "An exceptionally exceptional writer" and wait for the server to update, i.e. the following real day.
The task will appear in the list automatically. Travel to Inazuma City and speak with Sumida and the other adventurers behind souvenir shop.

After talking with other researchers, it turns out that they, like the Traveler, encountered difficulties in completing the task. Since everyone is determined to unravel the secrets of the island, the main character will have to visit Tsurumi again.
Go to Tsurumi Island
Use the statue of the seven Archons and go to Tsurumi Island. Move west towards the teleport and go through the gateto clear the fog. The map will clear and visibility will improve, so you can comfortably continue exploring locations. Keep going forward until you see the boy Roo.

Try to find buried objects
NPC Kama will appear under a tree nearby, get closer and talk to him. Ru will reveal that he left the island a long time ago, and then ask for help with other matters before the ceremony.
However, first examine the place where the illusory Kama buried something. Approach the tree and click "Dig" next to the yellow beam on the ground. It turns out that there is a real maushiro that Sumida needs.
Head to the ceremony site
Go to the Altar of Mosiri and find out information about the ceremony. Listen to the conversations of the locals standing in the square.
First, interact with the elderly Abe and Una on the left side. Then listen to the dialogue between brother and sister Kito and Kina. Lastly, approach the priest named Mata and find out what he is discussing with Chise. Next, you need to examine three places and find Ru in them, since the beginning of the ceremony is already close.
Head to Wakukau Shoal and find clues with your pen
Wakukau Shoal is the closest, so head there first. Move south from the Altar and jump down. Look around and listen to Paimon's suggestion.
Use the Strange Feather to interact with the stone bird statue under the rock. This action will cause the illusion of a man named Ipe to appear nearby and activate the purple symbols on the stones.
Solve the stones puzzle
To solve the stone puzzle, use the Strange Feather on the bird statue to the left of the stones. An Electro Fairy will appear from it, which must be escorted.
The creature will fly to the pillar to the south. Will be nearby shamachurls. The last place on the way will be a tree, after which the creature will stop at another statue of a bird.
Use the Strange Feather next to the statue that the fairy led to. Familiar symbols will appear on the wall that reflect the sequence of activation of the stones. Return to them.
To solve the puzzle, hit the stones in the correct order. When activated, the symbol will light up brightly.
Head to Oina Beach
The next place is located in the north of the island, on Oina Beach. Teleport to the Autake Plains and run towards the desired location. On the sand, you can see the drawing and the stones with which the next puzzle will be connected.
Find clues with your pen
To the right is a stone statue where you need to use the Strange Feather. After that, the illusions of Ru's acquaintances will appear. They will talk, and when they disappear, runes will appear on the stones and a puzzle will start.
Restore the stones and solve the puzzle
To solve the riddle, you need to match the symbol on the stone with the pattern on the ground:
- first move the symbol similar to the letter L twice towards the same pattern so that it is in the right place;
- then move the rune to his left inward;
- next move inward the stone with a pattern in the form of a mirrored letter "C" with a dot;
- move the two remaining runes one after the other to the correct places.
The finished solution should look like this:
Head to the Autake Plains
The last location is on the Autake Plains in the west of the island.
Find clues with your pen
At the quest point, use the Strange Feather on the bird statue to summon illusions. Ru will appear, but he will run a little ahead. Keep looking for tracks and move towards another thunder stone.
Find the missing stones
Once at the bird statue, use the Strange Feather, after which three fairies will appear. Escort them and return the stones to their places to trigger the puzzle.

The first stone is in the east. Follow the fairy from thunder pillar to pillar to avoid getting lost, and don't forget to light them up with Electro attacks. When you pick up an item, nearby is activated guardian of the ruinsthat needs to be defeated. Go back and place the stone in place.

Talk to Sumida
Head back to Inazuma and talk to Sumida. The traveler will give her the maushiro, which will not disappear this time, and decides to continue exploring the island the next day.
The next world quest from the chain is "Sea of Fog and the Rite of Trees".
Achievement Nihil Sub Caligine Novum in Genshin Impact
This achievement can be obtained almost immediately after starting the Octave Maushiro quest. After talking to Sumida, teleport to Tsurumi and start moving forward towards the gate.
For returning to the island on the second day, the achievement "Nihil Sub Caligine Novum" will be issued. She will be rewarded with 5 source stones.
