Captivating radiance in Genshin impact — a special mechanic in the banner system that appeared in update 5.0. It is designed to help players who are unlucky when knocking out event characters, increasing their chances of winning. The function is triggered with a certain chance and does not work in all prayers.
In the guide we will tell you everything about the mechanics of Captivating Radiance: how the chance of receiving an event legendary item increases and in which banners it is present. We'll tell you about the exact percentage of the chance of winning and how it interacts with the usual guarantor system of 50/50 and 100%.
Banners with Captivating Radiance in patch 5.4
In update 5.4 there is a chance for this mechanic to trigger in the following prayers:
- Yumemizuki Mizuki (5⭐ Anemo, catalyst)
- Sijwin (rerun) (5⭐ Hydro, rifle)
- Furina (rerun) (5⭐ Hydro, one-handed sword)
- Wriothesley (reran) (5⭐ Cryo, catalyst)
How does Captivating Radiance work in Genshin Impact?
Mechanics Captivating Radiance increases the player's chance of getting an event character. It does not work in all prayers and does not always work, so it does not change the basic rules guarantor and knocking out heroes dramatically, but can save in rare situations.
When Captivating Radiance is activated
The mechanics work as follows:
- Captivating Radiance activates with 5% probability if there was a loss at 50/50. If this happens, then the loss is “corrected” into a win at the moment of animation: the golden glow changes to purple, reminiscent of the Intertwined Fates event spin. In this case, a 100% guarantee for the next legendary is not issued, since the triggering of the Captivating Radiance is considered a win.
- However, it remains 95% chance that Captivating Spirit on loss NOT is activated. Then you will get one of the standard heroes and a 100% guarantee for the event hero, who will have to be completed using the usual method.
- Captivating radiance can also work on early leg, he has no conditions on what spin the legendary character should appear on. The activation of the mechanic is triggered by the very loss of 5⭐ of a standard hero, and not by the onset of a soft or hard guarantor.
So, given the base chance 50/50 and additional 5% from Captivating Radiance, we can consider that the overall probability of receiving an event character in the banner has increased from 50/50 to 55/45 in favor of the player.
The Captivating Radiance mechanic does not cancel the 100% guarantee system in any way, since it is activated with a 5% chance only when a standard is rolled, and in 95% of cases players will still experience losses. To some extent, this mechanic can be considered a small second chance to still get an event leg, even when the standard has already fallen.
It was officially confirmed that after 3 losses in a row when receiving the next character guaranteed Captivating Radiance is activated. This means that the "losing streak" can no longer last more than 3 50/50 losses.
Interaction with banners
Captivating Radiance only triggers in Character Event Prayers 1 and 2, that is, in regular event banners that appear two in each phase. It doesn’t matter what kind of character banner it is, the mechanics are relevant both for new heroes and for their reruns. For standard prayers, prayer of the chronicles and gunsmiths this function It does not work.

As a mathematician, I will swear now
The chance was 50/50 and remains so.
This 5% refers to another mathematical event. You can't just add the percentages of different events to each other.
It is quite possible to calculate the overall probability of winning, but the chance of success will not be 55% but 52,5%.
I'm curious, what does "base chance of Captivating Radiance = 0.018%" mean? So Captivating Radiance with this chance can also work with a regular spin, turning a 3 or 4* pull into a 5* banner character?
I DON'T UNDERSTAND 😭😭😭. I got dehya, although I already have 3 losses in my history...
Do you have three losses in a row? There must be exactly three losses in a row.
And does the chance carry over to the next banner? For example, if during the previous banner there was one prayer 50/50. Then on the next 55/45 if the glow function is active, or does it reset?
yes, it all accumulates until the moment you win with shine or for real
Tell me, what does "after 3 losses in a row when receiving the next character" mean? Is it possible to lose 3 times in a row if after one loss a 100% guarantee for the event leg is issued?
Or do you mean "Loss 1" -> "Win by guarantee" -> "Loss 2" -> "Win by guarantee" -> "Loss 3" -> "Win by guarantee" -> "Captivating glow in case of loss"?
Yes, the second option is correct. After a 50/50 loss, there is always a 100% guarantee and the captivating glow does not affect it in any way. So 3 50/50 losses + 3 wins with a 100% guarantee and only on the 4th 50/50 loss is the captivating glow guaranteed.
At the end of the banner, Harlequin, without a guarantor, got a leg. I was even stunned, the radiance worked.
In three years of playing I have not won 50/50, maybe it is true that now there will not be such frequent losses with a captivating glow.
Same thing! And I didn't even understand what happened😀
Is it true that if you lose 50/50 three times in a row, then you will have a 100% guarantee even after the event leg?
This is not officially stated anywhere, due to the relatively recent introduction of the mechanics of evidence from players with confirmations, it seems that there is still no evidence.
This is written into the game, in the banner details.
Thanks for the information, we'll update the material then. It's as if this wasn't announced anywhere, but written down)
Yes, there is such a thing, my eye accidentally caught it when I opened the banners, because Mizuki has details written in the menu "Details" (and not like Sidzhvin). I opened it and saw + they also wrote there a basic chance of captivating 0,018%
Thank you for your vigilance with:
I had 3 losses, on the 4th leg the shine worked and I got shilonen, it turns out that I still have a 100 guarantee for the next leg?
No, then it's 50/50 again.
then what was the author of the comment talking about? I didn't quite understand, and I didn't find anything in the banner details...
Your glow worked just the 4th time, as you say. It's like that once, then it all starts over again)
Yes, after 3 losses, you will receive after losing 3 50 to 50 and the event leg next and because you lost 50 to 50, you will receive another 1 leg, 2 guarantees will be
I saw a video where the streamer had a 100% guarantee, but the captivating glow worked. Many were confused, and the streamer thought that if the captivating glow works with a 100% guarantee, then these are two legendaries in the top ten. Is this possible?
So it worked after that 100% guarantee for the second leg with 50/50 in the remaining spins for ten.
what if I first won on Raiden, then knocked out Keqing, then Kinicha, then Tignari, then Chaska and then lost again on Dehue, there should have been a 100% guarantee and I knocked out Clorinda, I now also have a 100% guarantee?
After Dehja there was a 100 guarantee, after Clorinda dropped out after her it was 50/50 again.
Today I witnessed the captivating glow on the Harlequin banner... to say that I was confused is to say nothing). Before that I thought that this mechanic only works after 2 losses in a row (75/25), but I only had one loss after winning 50/50 and so... maybe it is possible, but the chance is small, right?
And another question. After the captivating glow has proc'd, the next leg will be 50/50. So this 5% chance in case of loss will be relevant again?
Yes, next time this chance should be relevant again.
Now I understand, thanks for the answer!
Yes, the chance is small. Congratulations)
I have too many questions about this mechanic. I looked at my losing history. I counted 4 losses there. Today I was spinning Harlequin and for some reason the captivating glow didn't work. In the end I lost on Dilyuk. Why is that?
According to official data, the chance does not increase as losses accumulate.
Anything up to 5.0 is not taken into .
Mavuika fell according to this system, but I still don't understand what to believe. Opinions are divided about this. If you believe the version in the comments, then in my spin history there are 3 losses before this. Accordingly, everything matches - the next leg falls with 100% probability. Or maybe 5% really worked
if you have 3 losses in a row without radiance, at the 4th loss the mechanics of captivating radiance are guaranteed to be triggered (at each loss from 1 to 4 the chance of radiance increases significantly (1 - 25%, 2 - 50%, 3 - 75%, 4 - 100% - the chances of radiance at losses are 50/50)), you get an event legendary, and there is a 100% guarantee for the next event leg; however, after such a "win" the radiance system is reset to the initial stage (25% chance in a loss)
I hope I explained it relatively clearly, but if you have any questions, please ask
tell me, is this official info? that is, after each lost guarantee, the chance for an event leg increases by 25%?
Came to read about this topic because I didn't see my lego thanks to the weave, which my friends had been telling me about for so long. As a result, I was even more disappointed. Not only did I lose 3 times to 5.0 and these losses won't count, but weave doesn't have a 100% guarantee. I love genshin and hoevers. 4, damn it, lost 50/50 in a row
Bro zhiza luti, but the bitch lost three times in a row starting from 5.0 with a 75% chance, I have a loser...
They should have made this mechanic activate automatically after three 50/50 losses. That is, it would be impossible to lose more than three times on a standard character. Now that's what I understand, but otherwise... a chance for a chance, pff, lol
Done, read the banner details
Correct the article. This information is almost three months old and outdated. The 5% chance was taken literally out of thin air by the Chinese, looking at how often captivating destinies appeared for people who got themselves a C6 at the beginning of the version.
It has already been proven 100500 times that these prayers have a cumulative effect, like a soft guarantee, in the event of a 50/50 loss 2-3 times in a row.
And as for the developers not saying anything, they have never officially spoken about the existence of a soft guarantor.
I want to share some information about this system. If you lost 50/50 to 5.0, it doesn't count. The count starts from 5.0 and if you won 1/50 at least once, everything resets.
I found information that we have to lose 2 times 50/50 and the 3rd time we have a 75/25 chance of falling out. If we lose the 3rd time, then the 4th time we have a 100% guarantee for the event lego. If we see a new glow, then it's a lego.
Bloggers have proven all this clearly, but so far everything is complicated. I saw many comments that they allegedly lost 4 times and did not receive the event leg. But they did not provide evidence.
It takes time to figure it out, arguing is useless, especially without evidence. And if anyone is interested, then look at the spins on YouTube
The spins up to 5.0 also worked)
In 4.8 I got Tignari. Then I lost to Tsitsi instead of Shilonen. And then I got Captivating Radiance. On the third loss, that is. So no, everything worked fine.
it doesn't work as you say, otherwise how do you justify the fact that I always lost and there was no captivating shine?
By the way, I just got a hu tao according to this system and in addition I want to say that the skip button gives a cool interference effect)
Do you have a video? I really want to see it
I read the comments and the article and didn't understand about the chance of it triggering, is it cumulative or something? That is, the chance of captivating radiance increases with each loss 50/50? Can this chance add up?
The developers did not talk about any accumulation of chance, and whether there is some hidden one in practice will be shown only by long-term data collection.
52,5% chance and not 55%) probabilities are calculated incorrectly, damn, even the f***ers don’t know about this as far as I can see.
5% chance will work only if you lose, the probability of which is 50%, i.e. the chance to win if you lose is 5% * 50% (0.5 * 0.05) = 2,5%. which increases the chance to win by exactly 2,5%. The result is 52,5%. (It seems to be a big difference, but still the information from the developers in this regard is questionable. Or it does not work as described)
oh lan i read the comments below, i was late with the stuffiness. 😀
But nowhere is there written about any 5%. It's all speculation.
The chance is definitely 55, the developers wrote about it. It's just that the probability of the glow is not 5, but 10% (this is more of an imagining)
Hello. It seems that on the 4th time, if you lose 50/50, then the captivating glow is activated with 100% probability. I lost 3 times in a row 50/50 even before the update. The 4th time I will get the event with 100% probability or these 3 losses do not count?
Hello. I also saw this interpretation. No, losses before the patch do not count.
Sorry
How can you lose 50/50 3 times in a row if after a loss the grant is 100%?
What the hell?
Genius, 50/50 is 50/50, after a loss 100% doesn't count
The guy knocked out 6 standards out of 3 legs, what's not clear?)
Here is an example
(Lost 50/50, then finished off the guarantor, then lost again 50/50)
3 legs, man lost 2 times 50/50
And if the captivating glow worked, is the chance for the next leg again 50/50, or 100?
Hello! 50/50 again.
So how does it work... I spin 90 spins - lose 50/50, then I spin another 90 - get my event leg with a 100% guarantee. And next time I have a 5% chance of activating this glow?
That is, the order of twists is: 50/50% – 100% – 5/95%?
Hello! No, it's not quite like that. Spin 90 spins (usually falls earlier, starting from 75) and if at that moment you had 50/50, which you lose, a "lottery" is activated, where with a 5% chance the Captivating Radiance will occur and the standard lega will "correct" to the event one. That is, the Captivating Radiance with its 5% chance always works, on any 50/50, for this you do not need to pre-spin to 100%.
“However, there is still a 95% chance that Captivating Spirit will NOT activate upon loss.”
I didn't quite understand why 95%? And not 45%? The loss is triggered with a 50% probability and there is a 5% probability of activating the glow, or did I completely misunderstand?
Hello! The loss is triggered with a 50% chance, yes, but when it happens, a separate "roulette" is launched for the Captivating Shine, where the chance of its triggering is 5%. And, accordingly, there is a 95% chance that it will not be activated. These are two different processes, and therefore the chance for the Captivating Shine comes from the general 100%, not 50%.
And what kind of luck do you need to have so that when you lose you get a 5 percent chance...?
In fact, the chance for an event hero is not 55 to 45, but 52,5 to 47,5. Because these 5% do not apply to all spins, but only to losses in them.
Hello! Yes, the chance of success in reality will probably be lower than 55%, but nevertheless, this figure was officially designated as the game chance of success (event leg). Later we will give a more precise example.
Thanks for the comment, I already thought I was going crazy and I was the only one thinking the same, and everyone around me keeps saying 55/45)
I saw that somewhere the Chinese thought that if you lose 3 times 50/50, then on the fourth chance will be as stated 55, but for now we are waiting for more understandable information
Forgive me, I couldn't by, but
not 55/45 at all, but 52,5/47,5, because the effect only works when you lose, and 5% should be counted not from 100%, but from 50% of all cases.
Hello! We understand everything, but the official post gives the official figure of 55% chance of success. When it becomes clearer, we will add an exact mathematical example to the article.
