In Elden Ring: Nightthreign, the Ghost class becomes available after completing a hidden quest that can be easily missed if you don't read the item descriptions. Embark on your first expeditions and explore the Tomb in an attempt to reach the Tricephalus and return to the Round Table with valuable loot - a pocket watch. Receiving the item will open a small story arc leading to new heroes and a boss fight.
In order not to miss the drop of a quest item, carefully review the rewards for any, including unsuccessful, campaign. The find will later have to be handed over to the girl in the white cloak to start a secret task. In the guide, we will tell you what conditions must be met to open the Revenant archetype, how to awaken it and ways to defeat the Night Idol.
How to Unlock the Ghost Class in Elden Ring: Nightthreign
To unlock the Ghost class, you will need to obtain the quest item "Old Pocket Watch", open the Duchess and buy the relic "Dirty Frame" at the pot market. Performing these actions will launch a secret mission, during which the Ghost will be awakened and, after victory, recruited into the squad.
Unlock the Duchess
To open the first of the two locked classes you need to get "Old pocket watch". This item cannot be simply picked up from the ground or taken from a chest, as it is a relic. First of all, you should concentrate on hiking and trying to survive until the third day to fight the first boss.
There are two ways to obtain an item:
- guaranteed for defeating the boss Gladius, Beast of the Night on the third day of the first campaign.
- randomly as a reward for any hike.
The chances of getting the watch in the second case are not very high, so it may take many attempts.
Find the priestess in a white robe next to the round table and in dialogue with her select: "Show her the old watch". Next, to complete the quest, it is important to return the item to the owner, the watch will still remain in the inventory. After a short cutscene, a new class will open - the Duchess, who is a master of daggers. Receiving a new hero will also unlock the achievement "The Duchess Enters the Fight".
Buy Dirty Frame
Go to the Small Pot Market in the western wing of the fortress, to the NPC near the visual codex. Talk to the merchant and buy the relic from him ""Dirty Frame"This item costs 1 Darkness and its description is a hint to unlock the Ghost.
Find the Ghost in the Round Table Fortress
It is not difficult to find the Revenant that appeared in the fortress. If you pay attention to the map, you can notice that after the purchase, a new character icon with an exclamation mark appeared. Go through the south-eastern exit from the central hall into a spacious corridor with paintings in the corner. Next to them is the spirit of a girl that you need to touch.
Immediately after the interaction, the hero will be transferred to a closed arena to fight the boss, so it is advisable to prepare before this:
- Choose the character you play best.
- Place relics to increase resistance holy damage.
There are no penalties for losing this fight, so losing will not affect your progress. You can return to the boss at any time by re-interacting with the Ghost in the fortress.
After winning, Revenant will be unlocked as a playable class. With her summoning and necromancy abilities, the heroine will be a great addition to the squad in co-op runs, making them much easier. Together with the heroine, the achievement "Ghost Enters the Fight" will be unlocked.
How to defeat the Night Idol
To even the odds, the game will automatically raise the hero's level to 6, so no preliminary leveling is required. Leave the room you are in and immediately run forward, towards the ruins to the south.
The Night Idol boss itself has little health and can be killed fairly quickly. However, the main difficulty in this fight will be its minions - three summoned spirits. The tactics of the battle depend on the chosen class: for a melee fighter, it is enough to concentrate on the summoner, but if you prefer an archer, then first defeat the summons.
One of the easiest ways to defeat the Night Idol is to use the Claw Throw skill and the Ultimate. Wilder:
- Once you enter the arena, start the fight with a grappling hook attack from afar.
- Ignore the summoned spirits and stay as far away from the Revenant as possible.
- Keep an eye on the skill's cooldown and attack the boss from afar while it's on cooldown.
- Once the "High Art" is charged, get close to the boss and activate your ult ("R" on keyboard or "Y" + "RT" for Xbox controller layout).
Wilder's charged super ability will deal massive damage to the boss's HP, after which it remains to be finished off. Do not move away from the enemy at this point and immediately deal 1-2 blows with the sword.
If you miss the ult, be prepared for the boss to enter phase two, where a large skeleton will start shooting beams across the arena. They will deal a lot of damage and destroy pillars, making the fight much more difficult.
If the ghostly enemies are causing you a lot of trouble, try defeating the enemy in The executioner:
- Focus on the small and medium enemies. The skeleton and giant are not very mobile and have less health, so with due skill they will quickly die, moving the fight to the second phase.
- Run towards the large skeleton, trying to stay behind him to avoid being accidentally hit by his beam. Perform a few katana strikes to charge your ultimate.
- Press "Higher Art" and in beast form, defeat the giant with normal attacks.
- Switch to the Night Idol and unleash a flurry of attacks on her until the super ability wears off.
- If the boss survives the blows, then after returning to his normal form, feel free to finish him off in close combat.
If you don't want to engage in close combat, you can use the skills of the archer Iron Eye. In this case, you will be able to kill all the minions from afar, but you may have problems with the boss herself due to her dodges. Try to attack when she casts shining disks.
