Vulnerabilities and resistances of Skarakabaz
Battle with the Bug Lord "Starbreaker": Skarakabaz in HSR is divided into two phases, during which the boss uses the abilities of the Path of Propagation to summon similar monsters. Attacks against an enemy in the Reproduction state provoke the appearance of additional enemies on the battlefield, thereby complicating the course of the turn-based battle.

Boss attacks
Before you kill Skarakabaz in Echoes of War, you need to learn all of the Bug Lord's attacks and assemble the right squad for the battle.
The first phase
Don't rush to use all attacking ultimates to reduce the enemy's resistance and save skill points, since the battle is entirely based on the correct sequence of moves and timely removal of weakenings. The greatest damage in the first half is caused by summoned sting bugs, but the main enemy’s skills also include powerful attacks:
- Bug Lord Cannon — deals average quantum damage to one of the squad .
- Radiation poison — attacks one of the targets with multiple quantum damage, with a high chance of inflicting negative status Binding. After dealing damage, summons a Corrosive Stingbug (vulnerabilities: physical, icy).
- Pyrolysis Death Ray — forms a death ray in the mouth, unleashing continuous quantum damage on one of the characters. Upon completion of the main attack, causes an explosion that damages the target and nearby allies.
- Spawned Brood Carapace - enters a state Reproduction, which lasts until the next action. Skarakabaz's damage is reduced, and each attack spawns new Corrosive Stingers (bonus action). Breaking through an enemy's vulnerability during the Reproduction action will cause a loss of stamina and an increase in the damage received by all other mobs.
The transition to the next phase is not accompanied by a powerful attack, but restores stamina and health to maximum.
The second phase
Half of the Bug Lord's abilities are retained as they were:
- Bug Lord Cannon - Also deals moderate quantum damage to one ally.
- Radiation poison — selects one target, which it attacks with multiple quantum damage and with a high probability inflicts Binding. At the same time, he summons the Corrosive Stingbug to his side.
- Shell of a born catastrophe - returns to normal state Reproduction, which retains the main aspects from the first phase with one exception: a Young Stingbug may appear among the monsters (vulnerabilities: physical, fiery, imaginary), which immediately accumulates a charge. If Skarakabaz does not lose his shield, he will perform the powerful attack "Egg of a Broken Star" on his next turn.
- Egg of a Broken Star — The Bug Lord accumulates a charge that will subsequently fall on all party , removing a significant portion of health. Executed strictly in the next turn after “Shell of Born Catastrophe”.
- Explosive detonation (Young Stingbug) - represents the greatest danger among all the abilities of summoned units. Before being destroyed, the monster explodes, dealing one-time wind damage and with a high chance of inflicting Rage. Up to three characters can enter the status and become uncontrollable.

Tactics
Follow these guidelines to safely battle Starbreaker:
- The main specificity of the Bug Lord is the weakening that is applied at the moment the vulnerability is broken while Skarakabaz is in the state of Reproduction. The destruction of the shield leads to loss of stamina and taking damage from all enemies on the field is therefore a top priority.
- Do not try to deprive the main enemy of the shield in one cycle, but focus on survival. Evenly break through the vulnerability with regular attacks and skills, leaving part of the durability scale until the next appearance of the “Shell” in any phase.
- Provide an opportunity in the group area attacksto gradually drain nearby targets of health. This tactic will allow you to start a chain reaction at a certain moment, in which the monsters will destroy each other with dying explosions.
- In any situation leave skill points on the healer's or shield's turn. Especially if the character does not have much speed, and there is a wave of enemy actions ahead.
- Prepare for possible nerfs to Binding and Rage by taking s into your squad with the ability to remove them or increase resistance to the effects: Hoho.
- Equip followers of Harmony or Abundance "Broken Keel", which will not only allow you to avoid control, but will also increase the critical damage of the squad.

When I farm resources to upgrade traces from him in Echo of War, I always take Aventurine as - the fight is long, boring, but one-sided. Aventurine hangs shields and gives protection from debuffs, the rest have fun breaking through vulnerabilities, I don't even use the ult.
