How to start the Todd Riordan Research: Three Faces of the Dragon quest in Honkai: Star Rail

You can start the mission in the same place where the first task of the series from Todd is on a bench in the Central Harbor of the Star Skiff Refuge. Quest will open on next real day after the completion of the previous "The Todd Riordan Study: A Glimpse of Medicine Teachings".

Talk to the man and choose an option in the dialogue "Why are you looking around?"to start the mission.

Todd will tell you that once again he needs the help of the Pathfinder. According to him, he wants to see with his own eyes the nature of the Scaled Gorge until he completely loses the ability to walk.

Talk to Todd and find out what he wants to do

After listening to Todd's proposal, return to him and talk to him again to inform him of your decision. Agree to help the scientist and proceed to the first task.

Take photos for Todd

Todd's assignment is to photograph several locations in Scaled Gorge.

Take a photo of the statue of the Supreme Elder

The first target is the statue of the Supreme Elder at the beginning of the location. Approach the monument and select the corresponding function in the lower right corner of the screen to take a picture. Make sure the target mark is within the viewfinder before taking a picture.

Take a picture of a vidyadhara egg

For the second objective, go to the upper age in the central part of the location. In the search area, turn around to face south to see the desired egg. Capture it with a special feature.

Take a photo of the historical Vidyadhara mural

In the southern part of the location, look for images on the stone walls that were examined during the story mission "A brave dragon in a boundless ocean". You can capture any of the four frescoes.

Take a picture of a beam of light in the shape of a dragon

The last objective is located at the westernmost point of the Scaled Gorge location. Go to the area in front of the light beam and take a picture of it.

Give the photos to Todd

Return to Todd at Central Harbor and inform him that the necessary pictures have been taken. In one of the photographs, the scientist will find a special mark left by his mentor Bernini Serrano, a member of the Erudite Guidia. The man will install a special application on the Pathfinder's phone and ask him to go through several locations to find other marks called prints.

Travel to the Alchemy Commission, connect hidden marks and collect optical prints

Head to the southern part of the Alchemy Commission and look for the quest marker in the square by the tree. Follow the sign to receive an alert from the search module installed by Todd. Activate the recognition mode by selecting the appropriate option in the dialog box. The first part of the print will appear on the wall opposite.

After the first image, the module will show another part located on the bench. Go to its front side to see both parts of the print and start matching.

Find a way to collect prints

Change the angle of the camera by tilting it up a little so that the parts of the print form a single picture. Once this happens, the photo function will appear on the bottom right side of the screen. Capture the picture and get the photo Todd needs.

Collect the remaining prints from the Alchemy Commission

Next, you have to find and capture two more prints hidden in the Alchemy Commission. The first one is on the bridge in the western part of the location.

Print 1

Walk towards the middle of the platform to see the location of the image. To make a print, go to the center of the bridge and turn around to face the wall.

Move the camera down a bit to put the pieces of the print together and take a photo.

Print 2

The third print is hidden in the central square of the Alchemy Commission. Go to its east side and stand on the quest marker.

Stand at the east side of the tree in the center of the square and turn around to face it to see all the parts of the print. Tilt the camera slightly up and to the left and take a picture of the whole picture.

Give the collected prints to Todd

Return to Todd in Central Harbor and give him the prints you took. The man will study the images and come to the conclusion that some details are missing. In his opinion, somewhere on Lofu Xianzhou there may be other prints created by Bernini.

Collect prints in Scaled Gorge

In total, in the Scaled Gorge, you have to find and collect 5 prints at various points in the location.

Print 1

The first print is located on the platform in front of the stairs leading to the gorge. Approach the light mark to start searching for the print.

The image will appear on one of the giant pillars behind. Stand in front of the monument and raise your camera to see the full picture and capture it.

Print 2

The second print is located at the southernmost point of the location. Go to the quest marker in the center of the site and start the search. The image will appear on the stone ruins at the stairs behind. Go behind the collapsed column and stand at the edge of the platform to see the print in its entirety.

Print 3

For the third print, go to the place with frescoes. The task label will be located in the center of the hall. The first part of the image will appear on the wall, and the second will need to be found on the lantern behind the hero.

Look at the first part through the hole in the lantern to complete the print and take a photo.

Print 4

The fourth print is located in the age at the top of the location. Go to the light mark and start searching for images. The first piece will spawn on a pillar, while the second piece will need to be found on the back of the collapsed pillar ahead. Go behind the ruins and take a look at the first image to combine the pieces and capture the print.

Print 5

For the fifth print, go to the southeastern part of the location. Look for the quest marker at the edge of the stairs and start searching for images. The first part will appear on a column in the southeastern part of the site. For a full view, go behind the southwest collapsed monument and look west towards the first part of the print.

Give the collected prints to Todd

Return to Todd in Central Harbor and inform him of the completion of the assignment. on the pictures you have taken and listen to his next request.

Travel with Todd to Scaled Gorge

The man will ask you to go to the Scaled Gorge together.

Take Todd to inspect the statue of the Vidyadhara Supreme Elder

After the Pathfinder agrees to escort Todd to the gorge, the group will automatically move to the statue of the Supreme Elder. Approach the monument and examine the sculpture together with the researcher.

Take Todd to inspect the Vidyadhara eggs

The second subject of Todd's research will be the Vidyadhara eggs, which Pathfinder had previously photographed. Go to a familiar place and listen to the scientist.

Return to the statue of the Vidyadhara Supreme Elder and find the lost notebook

While exploring the nests, the scientist discovers that he has lost his diary for notes. Todd will ask the Pathfinder to return to the statue and try to find the notebook. Go to the monument and take the diary lying in the bushes at the foot of the sculpture.

Return the notebook to Todd

Return to Todd at the Vidyadhara Nest. Talk to the man and give him the find. After that, the group will complete the exploration and return to Central Harbor, at which point the mission will end.
