Try not to attract the attention of the Millelites, so as not to be caught.

Then come close to the building and run to the bushes, and from them - to the stairs leading down.

With a successful escape, a cut-scene will begin, in which the Traveler will still be noticed, but a certain Tartaglia will heroically save him. To talk to him, you need to go to a safer place.
