Pets are an essential part of real life, and both large families and single people of all ages rarely do without them. Despite this, animals in the simulator inZOI remain unimplemented mechanics: it is not possible to get a pet, and there is no interaction with stray and wild animals in the early version.
In anticipation of announcements about the introduction of the pet mechanic, s are looking for alternative ways to get a furry companion. In this guide, we will look at how you can add animals to the map and to the house, as well as possible release dates for related add-ons.
How to get a pet in inZOI
Pets will appear not earlier than 2026 year: There is no pet add-on in the 2025 update roap, so we can expect them to be added only in the full version of the game. There is also a possibility that getting a pet will not be so easy, because the developers may release the feature as a paid DLC.
Use decorations
Alternatively, you can use 3D models of animals that are placed in the home along with furniture. The decoration will not replace a full-fledged pet, but at the moment this is the only way to fill the house with "life".
How to add city animals to inZOI
"Live" animals with unique behavior and animations can be placed in parks, adjusting their species diversity and numbers in the city appearance editor.
At the moment you can't interact with them — you won't be able to feed, pet or take the animal home, you can only take a photo next to it. The update roap also lacks information about the return of the mechanics in question.
How to edit a city
To edit the appearance of the city, press the "M" key and open the middle tab. In the at the top of the screen, find the "Animals" section to go to the corresponding page of the editor. In the lower left corner, select up to three types stray and wild animals from the list:
- cats;
- dogs;
- pandas;
- deer;
- raccoons;
- proteins;
- foxes;
- crocodiles.
The marked species will appear randomly in all city parks.
How to set up a population
Below the list is a population slider, which controls the total number of all animals in the parks. Move the slider out of the red zone so that the first animals appear on the map, and set the optimal value. Please note that a large number of objects can negatively affect the load on your PC.
