What is the Withering Zone
This is the area that is corroded by the sinister power of Marana. Being in such a zone, the characters accumulate Wither, which has an extremely negative effect on them. The area itself consists of several "parts":
- Dendrogranums, which are needed to clean the branches.
- Wither Branchesto be cleared.
- rotting branches, which infect the character with attacks.
- Enemies и Wither Disciples, which protect the branches and prevent the area from healing.
- Tumor, which must be destroyed after clearing the branches.
If you destroy the Wither Zone, you will receive rewards in the form of treasure chests and, in some cases, Dendroculae. In addition, clearing such areas is often necessary to progress through the storyline of various quests.
For the first time, the Traveler will encounter the Wither Zone as part of the quest Tignari, friends will meet people from the forest patrol, who will talk about the area eaten away by Marana.
Wither Effect
While in the Zones of Withering and taking damage from "projectiles" of rot branches or Apprentices, characters will accumulate Wither Effect. It is displayed on the red scale above the HP bar. Depending on the amount of "poison" accumulated, the character will lose resistance to physical and elemental damage, and his maximum amount of health will decrease. This means that even not the most dangerous enemies can become a serious obstacle, because the attacks from them will be more painful.
Help reduce cumulative effect candles and flames of life. They are green energy sources that help reduce Wither buildup. Just stand in a protected area to clean up a bit. Additionally, completely destroying the Wither Zone will also stop and reset the debuff buildup.
Where to find all the Wither Zones in Genshin Impact in Sumeru

How to clear the Wither Zone
Upon entering the Withering Zone, immediately look for an object that looks like a withered flower with a green glow in the core. Approach him and call Dendrogranums: it is they who will help clear the Withering Zone.
Now we need to find vetvi, which feed the main part of the anomaly - the tumor. To make it easier to find them, go to the big "flower": faded red lines. Follow them to reach the sprouts.
Having found a branch, you need to clean it. This can be done in two ways (do not forget that Dendrogranums are needed):
- Shoot a branch with a bow or charged attack.
- Hit a branch with a melee hero's charged attack.
The branches of decay will constantly attack the characters, increasing the accumulation of the Wither effect and making it difficult to clear the area. They must be removed first in order to survive in this zone. This can be done with Dendrogranum.
Do not forget that Marana zones poison all living things. While in this area, characters gain wither effect, in addition, the debuff can accumulate more quickly due to the nature of the zone or the "wither aura" that branches emit when they are cleansed. Don't forget to use Candles of Life and Flame of Life to reduce the "poison" from the effect.
The Withering area initially has enemies, but they are no different from those found in the "healthy" territories of Sumeru. After clearing several branches (individually for each zone), a Disciple of Withering, which is enhanced by the zone effect. Buff protects them from damage a shield that can be removed using the Dendro element or Dendrogranums, and then proceed to destroy the enemy. Enemy attacks also speed up the accumulation of the Wither effect.
When you have cleared the branches and dealt with the enemies, go to the "flower" and by pressing "F» (default), destroy the Wither tumor.
For clearing a nascent or already existing Wither Zone, you will receive a chest with rewards and, in some cases, a Dendroculus.
